[Januar] Internasjonal jubileumskonferanse

NUPIs 50- årsjubileum ble innledet med konferansen A Brave New Order – Multipolar Conflict or Multilateral Cooperation? den 21. januar på Grand Hotel i Oslo. Blant innlederne på konferansen var FNs tidligere generalsekretær Kofi Annan, Jeffrey Sachs, økonomiprofessor og direktør for the Earth Institute, FNs tidligere spesialutsending til Afghanistan Lakhdar Brahimi og professor Sergej A. Karaganov fra Russland.

Konferansen samlet 300 deltakere fra politikk, næringsliv, forvaltning, organisasjoner og media. NUPI fikk støtte fra Kunnskapsdepartementet til gjennomføringen av konferansen.
